We are in for a time of winnowing. Winnowing involves first crushing the stalks and grain, then tossing them into the air so that the chaff is blown away, and the good grain remains. The chaff has some utility: you can feed it to the oxen that crushed the grain in the first place.
The rainbow elite love this. They want Cardinals in jail They want our churches destroyed, and they will not stop with the Catholics. I know there have been abuses elsewhere: in state care in NZ, for wherever vulnerable children are predators will gather.
Furthermore, if (and I am eagerly awaiting the day) things go so far that RICO charges are brought against several Prelates, it is very reasonable to assume that the one or other will start to sing like a canary bird just to avoid dying in jail, revealing everything about a net of protection of homopaedopriests straddling the Atlantic Ocean and going all the way to Rome. Even a man as stupid and as far away from reality like Francis would, at that point, understand that he is finished as a religious figure whether he abdicates or not. I wonder whether the likes of Paglia and Coccopalmerio enjoy diplomatic immunity? And what happens to Francis is he abdicates and comes back to be a normal bishop? Will he be arrested and estradited to the United States as a member of an organised criminal organisation?
Be it as it may, I see a huge road roller now starting to move; and whilst it will take years before it has completed its work, the fallout will start impacting the Vatican very soon. The investigations will provide wonderful career opportunities for several AGs, opening to them a possible path to US Senate seat, gubernatorial appointments, perhaps one day even more! There is no way the States involved will let this fall to help the liberal narrative or in exchange of some short-term favour. This is the investigation of a lifetime.
The work that previous generations of witness, and the churches they builded, the traditions they have, need to be renewed. We cannot coast. We must proclaim the gospel in this age, in this time.
This is our primary aim as a church. We may feed the poor, visit prisons, comfort the stranger, but we must preach the gospel. We must not let the narrative of this time, that sees the other faiths as true, to enter. We must preach that Christ came and died for us, and this was the only way for us to be saved.
We must say that any work we do cannot undo our sin: that requires Christ. Instead, we say that any good we do we do but by the grace of God.
For we fear being like the Jews, with the law, with the spirit, with spiritual power and jealousy, but not chosen by God. It is a truly sad thing to be religious and not of the elect.
19 There was again a division among the Jews because of these words. 20 Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?” 21 Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
22 At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. 24 So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.” 25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name bear witness about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
44 The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45 But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him. 46 And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
“‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. 49 And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region. 50 But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. 51 But they shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
I think the Catholics are further down the path towards refining the church and rediscovering that we are the bride of Christ than those churches that claim to be reformed but are progressive in action. They have lost themselves: the are trying to do good and build alliances but they have lost what they should do.
Which is preach the gospel. The social justice movement and the peace movements are a trap. They make us compromise, for the haters of Christ cannot bear his name being mentioned in a public space.
The church is being weeded, winnowed. Those branches that have lost their way and have rejected Christ will be rejected as surely as the Jews were. They are sold to Satan.
And I can say but this: come out of them. Now. You can no longer trust the denomination or label: there are too many corrupt Catholic priests, or Presbyterian Ministers. Too many people glory in the title of teacher, have neither wholesomeness or authority.
The power of the pewsitter is that they can walk. We vote with our wallet and with our attention. Find those who preach the gospel in both good times and difficult.
The church is being weeded. Do not be cast out with the chaff and thorns.
