Ignore the ad man.

Some would say that Christ is deceptive here: he did not go to the festival publicly with his brothers. Who were thinking politically. He obeyed the law and attended the festival, but in private, with no fanfare.

What is more interesting is that the conventional method of building a following was rejected. Every good Jewish Rabbi would have been there and teaching all day. If he was thinking about the world, or in a worldly way, he would have gone down with the entire family and the disciples and made a big noise about it.

Christ went down quietly, for this was not his time.

Do not listen to the church marketers, for they will have you preaching honeyed words, and ignoring the truth. The truth is unchanged. These times are evil. This world has evil in it. And that is what we need to expose.

Though the powers that be seek to silence us or kill us. They did the same to Christ.

John 7:1-13

1After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He did not wish to go about in Judea because the Jews were looking for an opportunity to kill him. 2Now the Jewish festival of Booths was near. 3So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea so that your disciples also may see the works you are doing; 4for no one who wants to be widely known acts in secret. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” 5(For not even his brothers believed in him.) 6Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. 7The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify against it that its works are evil. 8Go to the festival yourselves. I am not going to this festival, for my time has not yet fully come.” 9After saying this, he remained in Galilee.

10But after his brothers had gone to the festival, then he also went, not publicly but as it were in secret. 11The Jews were looking for him at the festival and saying, “Where is he?” 12And there was considerable complaining about him among the crowds. While some were saying, “He is a good man,” others were saying, “No, he is deceiving the crowd.” 13Yet no one would speak openly about him for fear of the Jews.

When I look at end stage errors, I find the PCUSA has great utility. They were reformed generations ago: they united as a means of getting influence and power. They are now, like the Methodists, praying arms of the Democratic Party and the Progressive movement. Their worship has become more pagan.

Dancing in church, from the frozen chosen. I have difficulty moving in the pews when I hand with the bapticostals, where (as in any healthy church) I am in the gray-haired minority.

They have listened to much to worldly advice, and lost the power of the spirit.

And the current Vatican II Catholic Church sounds like they have merged with the Unitarians. Who do not care about abuse, but are oh so careful to be tuned with the progressive neuroses of this nanosecond.

It is far better to not promote yourself. It is far better to not market. Truth and beauty never have had to: people hunger for what is noble, good and true.

Live that way, and defend those who do. Support those who preach the gospel. The gospel is our unity and all believers our congregation.

Our leaders are corrupt, but they will burn. Our agenda is to live for Christ: he will refine us.

Then we will storm the gates of Hell itself.
